The Centre for Health Law and Policy is an interdisciplinary Centre established on 8th Aug 2014 at National University of Advanced Legal Studies as its ninth Centre for study and research. 

The director of the Centre is Dr. Liji Samuel who is an Assistant Professor of law at NUALS, Kochi.

The Centre was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Minister for Education of Kerala Mr. Abdu Rabb. The Centre aims to encourage, promote and support innovative and important scholarship including teaching, research, consultancy and advocacy in areas of health care law.

For that the Centre strives to

• Foster collaborative links across institutions and fields related to health law 

• Collaborate with professional associations and bodies engaged in promotion and protection of health of people

• Undertake research projects on various issues coming under health law and policy

• Organize training programme for targeted groups 

• Respond to the needs of people by structuring legal framework and by analyzing impact of health policies 

• Sponsor conferences, seminars, workshops, lectures and other similar activities

• Arrange visits of distinguished scholars from India and abroad,

• Publish journal, papers, and other works, as well as supporting other means of dissemination of scholarly publications.
